    The Gustavus women?s nordic team wrapped up the 2009-10 regular season with a sixth place finish (89 points) at the NCAA Central Region Championships held at Michigan Tech?s trails in Houghton, Michigan. The Gusties scored 44 points in the 5 km classic on Saturday, and 45 points in the 10 km freestyle on Sunday. Erica Hett was the top Gustavus skier of the weekend, posting a 10th place finish in the classic (17:57.0) and making the 5km Classic All-Region Team.

Erica Hett was the top Gustavus skier, as she finished 10th (15:27.4) in the 5km classic on Saturday, and 22nd (42:25.3) in the 15km freestyle on Sunday.

    The Gustavus women?s nordic ski team tallied 95 points to take sixth place among competing Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) schools at the Central Super Tour Ski Meet held at the Telemark Resort in Cable, Wisc. Erica Hett was the top Gustavus skier over the weekend. Hett finished 14th (18.55.58) in Saturday?s 5km classic race and 25th (34:35.3) in the 10km freestyle on Sunday. Northern Michigan took first place over the weekend with 166 points.

    The Gustavus women?s nordic ski team compiled 60 points to take seventh place among competing Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) colleges at the Central Super Tour races held at Theodore Wirth Park Friday and Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn. Erica Hett was the top Gustavus skier, finishing 27th (14:50.1) among college skiers in Saturday?s 5km freestyle race and 15th (32:36.2) on Sunday in the 10km classic.

    The Gustavus women's nordic ski team took third place with 15 points at the Minnesota College Relays Sunday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. The pair of Erica Hett and Erin Eppler led the team with a fifth place finish, crossing the finish line in 1:13.44. The University of Alaska-Fairbanks won the meet with 23 points.

    The Gustavus women's nordic ski team took third place (30 pts) at the Saints Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn. Senior Erin Eppler was the top Gustavus finisher as she took fifth overall with a time of 0:38.26. The College of Saint Benedict won the meet with 44 points.

    Andrew Poffenberger, Jens Brabbit, Zach Wagner, Cassandra Brady, and Erica Hett are represented the Gustavus Adolphus men's and women's nordic ski teams at the U.S. Cross Country Championships in Anchorage, Alaska the past week. The Championships run from Jan. 2-8 and includes around 500 of the top cross country skiers from around the nation.

    Select members of the Gustavus women's nordic skiing team took part in the Grand View Cross Country Ski Challenge held in Ironwood, Mich over the weekend. Top Gustavus finishers in the two-day event included Erica Hett and Cassandra Brady. Hett placed 21st overall in 10km classic on Sunday, while Brady finished 30th overall in the 5km freestyle on Saturday.

  • Men?s & Women?s Nordic Skiing Set To Open 2009-10 Season This Weekend
    Select members of the Gustavus men's and women's nordic skiing teams will travel to Ironwood, Mich., to take part in the season opening Grand View Cross Country Ski Challenge on Saturday and Sunday. The remaining skiers from the men's and women's team will compete at the Theodore Wirth Chalet, a 10 km race held in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sunday at 9:00am.
